The Accuracy Of Visual Field Diagnosis Is Improved Visual Field Analyzer
The purpose of visual field examination for glaucoma is twofold: to detect the presence of optic nerve damage and to monitor the progression of the disease. Visual field defect was detected to determine the presence of optic nerve damage. The diagnosis of glaucoma is not completely determined by intraocular pressure. High intraocular pressure alone without optic disc damage and corresponding visual field defect can only be diagnosed as hyperocular pressure. In contrast, in normal intraocular glaucoma, the intraocular pressure is normal, with only optic disc changes and visual field defects.
